Admissions
Shrine Catholic Academy accepts students for seventh and eighth grades. Almost all families are members of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic Church. Families are expected to support our parish and schools in the Sunday collection (using their envelopes) and share their time and talents.

At this time applications are being accepted for all grades. Registration for the 2006-07 school year is over, however we continue to consider transfer students throughout the year for placement on an individual basis.

Requirements for Entrance
Prospective students in the sixth or transferring seventh grades must demonstrate academic ability by current report cards, standardized test scores, and teacher recommendation if applying from schools other than Shrine Catholic Grade School.

Students may not have failures in math, English, or Literature (reading), and must have a minimal 2.0 grade point average or its equivalent.

The order of admission preference is:

  1. Students of siblings in other Shrine Catholic Schools
  2. Students currently enrolled in Shrine Catholic Grade School
  3. Parishioners of National Shrine of the Little Flower.

Other applications will be accepted on our waiting list for the first available opening.

Students and families must have an interview with the Academy principal before final acceptance can be offered.

All students must provide proof of immunization and a birth certificate, in accordance with Michigan state law. All prospective students are encouraged to spend a Visit Day with us to see firsthand the facilities, faculty and meet attending students.

Shrine Catholic Academy offers an intensive, Catholic middle school experience. A typical student takes six core classes (English, math, history, science, literature, and of course Religion) and our varied elective program.
