Multi-Media Club
Started in the 2004-2005 school year, the Multi-Media Club explores how media and technology effect our everyday lives. Each school year, moderators Jennifer Haney (Academy teacher) and Wladek Fuchs (professor at the University of Detroit Mercy) engage students in a project utilizing computers, digital cameras, video cameras, and a variety of computer programs.

In their first year, students produced movie shorts and presented them at the 2005 Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) technology conference in Detroit at Cobo Hall. Students were recognized by Governor Granholm for their hard work and dedication to learning more about technology and how it shapes our world.

This year students have created Shrine Catholic's first online newsletter. Students chose various topics and learned the journalistic skills to report their stories. In addition, these "cub reporters" used web design and photo software to design their own website and create images to compliment their works.
