Academics
The essence of Shrine Catholic High School is the excellence of our Academic Program. The course curriculum emphasizes preparation for college study, and is designed to meet standards set by the State Universities of Michigan and the Michigan Non-Public School Accrediting Association (MNSAA). A strong mix of required and elective courses guarantees a solid college preparatory education with ample opportunity to pursue special areas of interest. Honors Programs and Advanced Placement courses are offered to students with superior academic ability. Students are invited by Department chairs to participate in these Honors classes.

Students of Shrine Catholic High School come from parochial and public schools across the metropolitan Detroit area. While students must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (4.0 scale), the majority perform at a much higher level. In fact, over 99% of our students are accepted at our nations finest colleges and universities. The vast majority of our graduates have been accepted at their first choice school. Over the past ten years, each senior class has earned well over a million dollars in awards and scholarships. Each year Shrine Catholic has students recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Foundation as Finalists, Semi-Finalists and Commended students.
