Extracurriculars Extracurricular activities such as Student Leadership Executive Congress, Mock Trial and Quiz Bowl teams, SADD, an annual talent show, and the spring musical are designed to dovetail with related classroom courses. Several students are selected each year to attend the week-long Presidential Classroom Seminar in Washington, D.C. Dances, concerts, ski club, Field Day, chess club, robotics slub and other social events round out the high school experience. The majority of students at Shrine Catholic become involved in academically related co-curricular activities. Programs such as the Observer, the student newspaper, Spirit yearbook, Concert Choir, Goliards performance group, and Pep, Concert and Jazz Bands are available as academic courses. All of these programs receive recognition and awards due to the achievement of the students. Shrine Catholic High School has a very active chapter of the National Honor Society; almost half of Shrine Catholic students earn Honor Roll status. Each year a dozen or more Seniors are honored by Phi Beta Kappa, the college honorary fraternity. Shrine Knight Athletics In the last five years, Shrine Catholic teams have combined to win 12 Sectional Championships, 5 Catholic League Championships, 8 District Championships and 4 Regional State Championships. There are over 15 Shrine Catholic graduates currently playing on Intercollegiate Athletic teams. Many of our athletes earn All League, All Catholic, All Region and All State honors each year. In addition, Shrine Catholic's teams are winners of Catholic High School League Class Act Awards for good sportsmanship and Academic Awards for teams with impressive cumulative grade point averages. Shrine Catholic coaches take pride in teaching life lessons on and off the court rounding out the educational experience for our Shrine Knight athletes. Varsity and JV Team coaches are consistently honored with Coach of the Year Awards.
