The Office of the Head of Schools has as its primary purpose to provide overall leadership to achieve the fullest attainment of Shrine Catholic Schools’ important mission. The Head of Schools sets direction for and reports to the President of Shrine Catholic Schools (the Pastor/Rector of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica) on any and all executive matters, including management of personnel, leadership for the educational mission, and values consistent with the Roman Catholic faith.
The Head of Schools oversees and delegates responsibility to the Principals of the Grade School/Early Childhood Center and High School/Academy for any and all matters related directly to their respective campuses. The Head of Schools consults with the Unified School Board (USB) to develop and implement educational policies.
Overall, the Head of Schools’ highest priority is to successfully develop, coordinate implementation, and provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of a strategic plan by interacting with the finance and development directors of the Parish and schools staff, faculty, and volunteers. Execution of the strategic plan will include interaction with Shrine Catholic Schools’ directors of admissions, marketing/communications, Catholic identity, and athletics.
While the President must have a demonstrated capacity for broad institutional leadership, prospective candidates could have attained this experience through a variety of different career paths, including primary, secondary, or higher education; non-profit management; or work in the corporate or public sector. An advanced degree is required; those in educational administration or business-related fields are preferred.

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Pastor/Rector of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, the Director of Development is responsible for planning, initiating and managing all Development activities for the Basilica as well as acting as a Development Consultant to the President of the Shrine Catholic Schools. Responsibilities include: identifying, qualifying, cultivating and assisting the Pastor in soliciting and stewarding major donors; advancing Planned Giving; running Annual Appeals/Basilica local and national campaigns; driving Capital Campaigns; and supporting weekly offering initiatives.
