Personal Statement
As a literature teacher, my passion is in guiding students to discover who they are as readers and to understand the true power stories hold. We dive into fictional and nonfictional worlds, learning to empathize with diverse perspectives and experiences. We learn that literature reflects who we are as individuals and acts as a bridge to help us understand others. By exercising our emotional muscles through reading, we cultivate compassion and a deeper connection to the world around us. My mission is to inspire students to see reading as a tool for growth, empathy, and human connection.
