Personal statement

I love teaching because I love helping people. I live for the "ah-ha" moments when a student truly understands a concept. Mathematics is about more than solving equations. It's about using logic and problem solving, and pushing yourself to dig deeper. I work to help students become critical thinkers who can apply their skills in and out of the classroom. Beyond the math curriculum, I love helping students build social-emotional skills that they can carry with them as they grow into adults. At Shrine, we get the opportunity to teach the whole student — mind, body, and soul.
